Security Title handles $1.458 Loan for Solar Generating Plant

Sunny Arizona is at the center of the solar energy movement and Security Title (an FNTG direct operation) was an integral player in several significant transactions. Of note is our closing in 2010 of a $1.458 loan guaranteed by the Department of Energy for the Solana Generating Station, a massive solar power plant developed by Abengoa Solar of Spain. The plant sells power to Arizona Public Service. A singularly unique feature of the plant is its ability to store electricity in massive tanks filled with molten salt so that power will be available for the high-demand summer hours after sundown. Security Title closed the original land acquisition for Abengoa in 2008 and closed acquisitions of related canal properties in August 2010. Commercial Escrow Officer Vicki Bartlett and Chief Title Officer Diane Boardman provided the timeliness and detail-orientation that this sophisticated transaction required and were retained to complete the loan work and acquisition of 22 miles of transmission line easements.
